Quiet Day

Quiet Day

Cup of joe

Nowhere to go

I don’t know

Don’t mind

At all

Footballs fly

On my TV

Teams run

They play

Whilst I watch

Swirls of cream

Float around

Listening today

Miles Davis’ Portia

Quiet Day

    My day started similarly.
    Bored – bored – bored.
Then an idea made my heart leap.
It was going to be 95 in the city.
A ride in the mountains.. ahhhh
Away from the heat of the city
Amongst the green of the trees.
The smell of pines not exhaust fumes.

Now motorcycle or convertible is needed
To create a reality of the germ of an idea.
Ahh. yes a Saturn Sky zipping through
The curves, hills, and mountain passes.

A stop at casino to make a small donation
as a way stop before a lunch in the mountains.
The day spent amongst motor cyclists winding
Through the curves and mountain passes.

Lunch overlooking a valley and surrounding mountains.
Sipping on a beer named Mama’s Little Yellow Pil.
It simply made the day perfect.

Thanks to sunscreen no sunburn… Ahhhh
A perfect day.. Not a quiet day.

I love your prose … AND the feelings behind it!
