Start Your Day With Breakfast

This meal only takes about ten minutes to make and it can help you think better. Your body functions better. Just like fueling your automobile, food is the necessary fuel for our bodies. Glad it tastes good.

The Value of Prayer

I inherited this print of Our Lady of Guadeloupe, in its original hand-carved frame, complete with the string Daddy had attached to the back, in order to hang it in our home. These are roses from my rose bush, at our home we sold. Today I pray especially hard for my beautiful and brave Sister-in-law, Janet. She is having a procedure this morning and I pray on my knees, that she will come out of this healed as much as she can be healed. I prayed the rosary yesterday with EWTNs Mother Angelica and the nuns, while I prepared a big breakfast. It soothed my soul, calmed my mind, and I sent up prayers for Janet, and also my friend, Peggy. Both ladies have been experiencing pain and complications. So today, I humbly ask that you will offer up prayers of healing for Janet and Peggy, Charley (my brother), and Jennifer (a friend’s wife), too. Four wonderful people battling the trials of living. Please join me and give them five minutes of your day.

Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with Thee Blessed art Thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus, Holy Mary Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen. (repeat three times)

What’s For Dinner Thursday?

Soap Review

Impulse buying led me to pick up this lonely bar of soap from the basket at the end of the aisle. I love olive oil. When I was young and planned to sunbathe, I would wash my hair, pour 1/2 cup of olive oil on my head and comb through my hair. Then I wrapped my head in a towel. After a while in the sun, my hair would be soft and lovely. Naturally, I would wash it again. I thought this olive oil soap would be good for my face, and that is why it ended up in my basket.

It feels silky against my skin and leaves my face clean, without an oily residue, and it is soft to my touch. The only drawback I found was the slight salad scent I smelled, which might take some getting used to. At $2.75 a bar, I hope the lasting and positive effects will convince me to ignore the scent, and purchase it again.

Eating Healthy

It took a long time to cut this butternut squash. It was a strong veggie with a mind of its own. Then I took a spoon and scooped out the membranes and seeds. EVOO on and in the cavity, placed onto a plate, covered with a paper towel, and microwaved for six to eight minutes. Sprinkled a bit of salt and enjoyed one-half. The other half I shared with my husband. I gave him the larger portion. This is a valuable food.
